Fun at Dewberry Farm!

We went with some of the gals from our MOPS group to Dewberry Farm this week, and the boys had a blast. We went on Tuesday morning when it was kind of rainy here, but it was pretty nice in Brookshire. That is, until noon. We were waiting in line for the hayride when this HUGE bolt of lightning crashed through the air, at which point we all ran for our cars! So the trip was cut short, but we're OK cause we're gonna go back next week again! Noah is pretty pumped.

Both the boys fed the goats, which was quite shocking. You know how Noah J is unsure about everything, but he just stuck his hand right in there. I really think the whole school thing has made him so much braver! And you know Wyatt was obsessed with the goats. He kept crying when he was out of food and they wouldn't come back and lick his hand - he thought they should come kiss him just for his good looks. We also saw a milking demonstration, which was pretty boring, but Noah said something that cracked me up. The guy told the kids, "I want you to understand how the milk gets from the cow to your dinner table." Noah looked at me with the huge smile and crazy face and said, "MOM, cows don't eat dinner at a table!!!" It was so funny and adorable. I just love the things they say at this age.

They also had this huge playground and sandbox with all kinds of things boys love, so naturally Noah was in heaven. They also went onto this huge hay pile to jump in (you can see Wyatt fell in!), and Josh took Wyatt on this crazy rolley slide thing. The coolest part of the place was this "jumping pillow" they have. It's kind of like a big bounce room thing, but without the walls. We only played for a few minutes on it cause we ran to catch the hay ride, but next time I think it will be hard to get Noah J off of it! Even Wyatt was brave enough to attempt it, and you know how scared he is of bounce rooms!

I'll have to update more when we go back next week!

Buzz

Noah seems to think that he is Buzz Lightyear. He he is lasering Josh cause he doesn't like what he's telling him. That's what we get all the time - the LASER! I can't have a cookie? THE LASER! I can't go to Grandpa's house? THE LASER! It's really a very versatile weapon!

One more trip to the zoo!

After the hurricane weeks ago, we made a trip to the zoo cause the weather was so nice with the cold front. Wyatt was really into it this time - he was sticking his face up to every window to try and find the animals. He really had a lot of fun. Noah was a total grump, so it didn't help when he hit his head while crawling through a tunnel - see him crying? I love the one picture of Wyatt petting the fake rat in the children's zoo tunnel. He was having so much fun!

First Day of School!!!

I know this is shocking, but we actually signed Noah up for preschool!!!!! Craziness!!!

We were going to wait until next year, but when I was at MOPS 2 weeks ago I saw in the newsletter that the Lamb School still had a few openings. So I thought I'd call and check on his age group, and sure enough, they still had a spot!! So now he's going MWF and he's loving it!!!

When I went and registered him they took him to introduce him to his teachers, and I was shocked, but he actually waved at them, and then when one asked him to shake her hand he gave her a high five. I was FLOORED!!!!!! This from my boy who shrinks and hides at the thought of strangers, actually voluntarily touched one! The night before his first day we started prepping him, and he was freaking out. Crying and moaning about how he didn't want to go. And then that morning he was just so sad about it. But he knocked our socks right off when we dropped him off. He gave Josh and I hugs, and then just walked right in. We couldn't believe it. So we figured that it would probably be bad when we picked him up, cause that's usually when he gets upset at church (and also last year when we did mothers day out). But when we got him he was all smiles and his teachers said it was a really great first day and that he even participated!!!!!!!!

I know this may not seem like a big deal, but for Noah J this is huge!!! The first thing he asked us when we picked him up was, "My surprise in the car?" Yes, we got him a first day of school present. We wrapped it up and it was in his carseat. It was this Toy Story remote control car that he has been asking for forever. He was so excited! In the car on the way home he we were asking him about how school was, and you can just imagine how that went. It was like pulling teeth! He told us they talked about Jesus and "me in the boat." Huh?? Then we figured out they talked about Noah's Ark that day. So funny! When we asked him about music class and asked if he sang with the other kids he adamently said, "NO! I no sing that song. I only dance with my feet." We were cracking up so hard! And that's a big deal too, cause you know at the library he REFUSES to dance with the kids.

So this week will be his third week, and we couldn't be happier. He's doing great, the school's great, and I'm enjoying my time alone with Wyatt to play, and I can also get some work done! How great, right?

My crazy noodles

You know I'm constantly trying to get good pictures of these 2 together, but to no avail! These were the closest I got! They were hamming it up in their undies/diapers and were so cute I had to snap some pics. Noah is so funny cause he wants to always be the same as Wyatt as far as clothing is concerned. If Wy is in a t-shirt and diaper, Noah wants to take his shorts off. Wyatt has no shirt on? Noah takes his off. It's so weird, but also sweet at the same time that he thinks it so fun to do stuff together!

Bringing the outside in!

For part of our preparation for Ike we moved ALL of the outside toys and furniture into the garage and shed. Boy do we have a lot of junk!! We ran out of room, so we moved the boys little slide thing into the living room for lack of a better place to put it. Who would have thought that this mere action would elevate this toy to premium status? I can't keep the kids out of it! YES, it's still sitting in my living room 3 weeks later. Cause they LOVE it!! And it entertains them so much I just can't bring myself to lug it back out! Ummm, I think that makes us white trash.

Egg head!

Isn't it truly awful? I can hardly stand looking at it!

The Sunday after Ike hit we were desperate to get out of the house and do something. Shockingly, our favorite toy store was open so we ran in just to entertain the kids for a bit. They have a Thomas train table, which is fun enough for an hour! Well they had this plastic kid sized chair next to the table that day, and Wyatt was trying to get into it when he fell and bonked his head right on the edge of the table. In an instant it was HUGE and black and purple and we were freaking out!!! We ran out of the store to take him somewhere cause it was truly awful, but nothing was open cause of the storm! So we took him home and I did some internet research and found out I shouldn't really worry about it that much! So that's what we did. But isn't it just hideous!? Our poor noodle.

Daddy, we gonna mow today?

These are the first words out of Noah's mouth, each and every morning when Josh walks in the door. I'm pretty certain it's all the boy thinks about. So I finally ran out and snapped some shots of them doing the deed. And let me tell you, that boy does not tucker out. He mows the entire thing right behind his daddy, tills he's beet red and sweating head to toe. Then he comes in and leaves dad to the edging and tells me it's time "for a little break." He's so cute!! We don't know what he'll do now that fall is coming and we're mowing less. We didn't mow last week cause the grass just didn't grow, and it was the end of the world to Noah J. But Josh is such a sucker for the boy I have the feeling someone will be mowing a lot this winter!
