Its raining, its pouring.........

My little boy is snoring!! The super cozy rainy weather lulled my baby into sleeping late again today! All the way till 8:30....... I'm kind of actually starting to remember life before the baby! :) It was so cozy both of us actually stayed in our pajamas all day! FUN!

Noah J had TONS of fun playing in the rain this afternoon. There were thunderstorms this morning but in the evening it was a nice soft rain so I let him play on the driveway where I could stay protected by the porch and the garage eaves. He touched the water droplets on the crape myrtle flowers, swooshed the water around on Grandma's car, and played with the water coming out of the gutter downspout. I hardly even had to give him a bath.

One Exhausted Boy!

I can't believe I didn't take pictures today! Sorry for the boring, text-only post.

Noah had tons of fun today playing with his friend Adeline. Which means Momma got to have fun playing with her friend, too! Yeah! At one point they were both in my lap together, being super cute and touching each other's faces. I don't normally get one cuddle bug, none the less two!! :)

They played for so long Noah J was just exhausted and finally went down for his nap at around 3:15. The boy didn't wake up until 6:15!!!!!!! That's right, he slept for 3 hours!!!!!!!! I don't think he's ever done that. WSo of course he couldn't go to sleep at 7:20 like normal, so he got to stay up late and we had tons of fun. We even went to Wal-Mart to get a new phone battery at 7:00 at night! I don't even remember the last time I went to a store at night. It was a grand adventure! Then we came home and watched Last Comic Standing and didn't got to bed until 9:00!!!! He's such a sweet little bug - I like it when he stays up late cause he gets super cuddly!!

Where oh where could my little boy be..........

Q & A time!

Q: Do I have the most beautiful boy in the whole, wide world?

A: Yeah, I do!!

This is the cuteness I had to deal with while trying to cut his hair last night! How can I even concentrate on the hair when he's this darn adorable???? I'll have to snap a hair pic tomorrow to show the results!!! (Its not drastic, don't worry!)

Noah seems to be feeling much better today. Had a 100.0 temp, but the doc says thats not a fever - only over 101.3 is a fever - crazy, huh? He was still pretty fussy, but I guess it was just from the shots. We had a fun, impromptu dinner tonight with G&G and Noah J was a ham the whole time and was way excited cause he got to eat his favorite rolls from Texas Roadhouse. Momma was pretty excited about it too!

Sir Poops-A-Lot

I cannot believe I haven't posted about the nightmare of our Sunday morning. It started as any other day, but drastically changed in just a few moments.....

Like normal, Noah J usually sleeps until sometime between 7:00 and 7:30. We ALWAYS make him stay in his crib till 7:30, though, and he usually just plays/moans on and off till we get him. Well this morning was no different - I get his milk cup ready while Josh gets him from his room. Well, through the monitor I hear Josh say "Honey, I need your help in here." HELP?? Why does he need help picking Noah up from his crib? Already I know its gonna be bad.

Lets stop the story here let me fill you in on Noah's pajamas. Normally he sleeps in these skintight little sausage jammies. But he has the one pair that are baggy - EVERY time he wears these when we wake up he has them pulled off and on the floor. They are kind of long and as he walks around in the crib his feet pull them down farther and farther till he pulls them all the ay off and then plays with them. Saturday night he swallowed some water in the bathtub and was really upset while I was dressing him so I put him in the easy to get on, loose pants. Now, back to the story......

I make my way to the bedroom to discover the most horrifying thing I have ever seen. My son standing in his crib, with pants and NO DIAPER on, covered in poop. Poop in his hair, on his face, IN HIS MOUTH, all over the crib, the sheets, his blanket, his toy, his stuffed animal, the carpet, the rug........... well, you can see where I am going with this. HE PULLED HIS POOPY DIAPER OFF!!!!!!!!! Can you imagine anything more horrible???? I spent at least 3 hours just cleaning everything and doing laundry.

So that afternoon his has a 102.3 fever. Is it from eating poop? I don't know!! Try googling "my toddler at his own poop" and you won't come up with very many helpful articles! Josh thinks it from his shots he got on Tuesday, but I can't imagine it taking 5 days to bother him. He still had a fever today, so Joe didn't come over, which was good cause he was really needy, poor boy. He's getting better, though. I'm glad cause I didn't want to have to call the doctor and tell her he ate poop!!!!!

I figured you guys would appreciate not having a picture to illustrate this story!! :)

Taking it easy........

We haven't done anything exciting the last few days. Just playing outside in the heat, most of the time. I'm gonna have to get a job just to pay for all of the sunscreen!

Ride-on Corn Popper!!!

Here is one of Noah J's favorite new birthday toys from Uncle Aaron and Aunt Christy. He can move himself along REALLY slowly, but mostly likes to just crawl along beside it pushing it with his hands. He REFUSES to walk behind it pushing it - he also won't walk behind his new lawnmower. What can I say, he's a strange boy! He does enjoy having Mommy and Daddy push him super fast through the tiled hallways - he sticks his legs straight out - you know like you used to do on your bike when you were a kid?! He's the most adorable boy ever!

Mmmmmm.....smoothies!!

Noah J had his first smoothie yesterday afternoon! I threw some vanilla yogurt, frozen blueberries, and juice into a blender and... voila!! A smoothie fit for a king! Noah J sat there and sucked down the whole thing. Throw in a few Cheerios and its a delicious afternoon snack!
We went to the park this afternoon and it was SO hot! The swings were in the sun and too hot to sit in, so we sat in this tiny little shade spot and Noah played with the stroller - you know, his favorite thing to do. When we got back we were burning up so I made him a watermelon smoothie for his snack - he liked it, but it was not as well received as the blueberry version! It didn't take much convincing to get Daddy to finish it off! This poor boy takes after his momma - when we got back Josh and Joseph looked fine - Noah and I were so red we looked like we had run a marathon. But no burns - we've been vigilant about the sunscreen!

Its kind of like surf and turf....

So we have about a billion pictures of Noah with his new toys, so I'm rationing them out to make them last all week!! Here he is on Saturday playing with his new sand and water table Grandma and Grandpa got him. He wasn't too sure about it then, but we went outside today and he really loved it. Its pretty spiffy - it has areas to race cars over the water and then into the sand, its just the right height to stand and play, and it even comes with an umbrella! And G&G were so thoughtful they got him some of those foam mat things to stand on so its comfy, cool, and if he falls down he won't get hurt! Some birthday present, huh?

We put the umbrella up on it and he was able to play in the shade, and it also protected him from the sprinkler that was running. He also got these little, tiny, hand-sized cars from Corrie and Mark, and he played with those in the sand and then dunked them in the water. He mostly likes to splash and take handfulls of dirt out of the box and put them on the ground. Of course, this is constantly interrupted by his obsession of walking all the way across the yard to the hose, and then back to his toy. Why does he love that hose so much?

As a side note, Noah J went to the doc today and his head is only in the 80th percentile now!!!! Can you even believe it? It HAS been looking smaller lately.....

Our little boy is 1!!!

YEAH!! Our little boy is finally one!! We had such a great time at his party Saturday! The house was packed with people which made Noah James excited and he had lots of fun. He wasn't really interested in opening gifts, but I had fun doing it for him. He ate TONS of cake, with a large cup of milk, of course. He also loved his chair I made him - I was so happy!! Later on he crawled into it with his blanky and relaxed - so cute!! It was nice cause we got to see all of our friends, and Noah had fun following Adeline around. He got lots of toys and has already played with every single one of them. I will post more pictures later!

The cakes!!!!!

Can you see the blood, sweat, and tears baked right into these? We had chocolate cake with cookies and cream filling and I do have to say they were quite delicious! Noah got his own little "smash cake" and he seriously ate about half of it! I AM still cleaning blue icing off of EVERYTHING, though!! :)

The decor!!

I think these are the last of the pictures! We had tons of fun decorating with streamers on just about everything - and somehow we managed to not get any photos of them! But here are some of his balloons, and the beautiful tables my mom put together. She told me she had a surprise for the party and she showed up with banana leaves for my tables! Aren't they beautiful? We stole the great idea from my friend, Kelly, about playing the game putting the pictures in order from his first year. I must give props to Courtney O who won the game and a kiss from Noah J! Josh and I also made some cookie favors - they were rhinos, elephants, and hippos! Yum!

The Children's Museum

On Tuesday we took Noah J to the Children's Museum and he had a blast!! I took my students there last year, and I didn't really think there would be much for him to do, but to my surprise they have this 0-2 room full of cool stuff for toddlers. Noah really liked playing with the world's largest light switch, a teeny baby sized door, driving a car, and looking at us through weird bubbles. We can't wait to go back this summer!

And to top it all off, Noah had his first Freebird's burrito. I think his favorite part was the tin foil!! Oh yeah, he also really liked the little footies that we had to wear - you can see Josh's in the pic with the car. He thought they were cool!!

The Swimming Pool

So, I'm finally posting about the swimming pool. HE HATED IT!! For about 2 weeks now he has been deathly afraid of the bathtub, so it didn't exactly come as a surprise. Yes, the child who used to squeal with excitement as soon as you turned the water on now panics and cries as soon as his feet touch the water. We put his Nemo ball in the pool and he liked how it floated, but still just pulled on Daddy to get out.

Of course, he headed straight for the water hose and had a grand time playing with that. And then he pooped in his swim trunks - try cleaning poop out of that mesh!!! What a mess!! But he deserves some diaper free time, right?

THUD

That was the sound of Noah J's noggin hitting the concrete this evening!!! It was SOOOOO terrible! Can you believe that spot on his head? Just in time for his first birthday and all of those photos!!! He was walking on the patio and tripped on a little rock and fell face first. You can see it didn't keep him down for long, though!

This is Josh's vacation this week so I'm not able to blog much! But I'll catch ya'll up next week!

Kissing the puppy

Can I tell you how excited Noah James was today that he finally got to kiss the puppy?? He so desperately has wanted to kiss and pet Zeus, but you know how weirdly skittish that dog is. Shockingly while Noah was in his sandbox at Grandma and Grandpa's house tonight Zeus kissed him. It was mostly just a ploy to get his toy back from Noah, though. But it made the little one happy none-the-less. Yes, he has a sandbox at G & G's house. He didn't want to have anything to do with it at first, but once we let Joseph sit in it he has decided thats its cool. He has also mastered crawling in and out of it without falling face first. He likes to bring rocks from their driveway and put them into the sandbox.

AND the water hose obesession is not limited to just Marlatt hoses, but evidently hoses in general. Notice how he's carrying the dogs toy around - he doesn't put them down the whole time when we're over there.

Check out his new kicks!! Aren't they just too cute? You can see that Noah J thinks that they are just toys that are attached to his feet. Also check out the car seat facing the front! We figured turning it around 1 1/2 weeks early was OK. It is SO much easier to put him in it now that its not only facing front but on the side. OK OK, we know its not as safe as being in the middle, but its just impossible to hoist this sack of potatoes into the middle anymore.

More teeth????

Today was a tough day for the little boy!! I'm guessing that he's getting more teeth and its just really wearing him out. The front 4 on top are showing now, but I'm thinking there are more in the back. He cried for about 3/4 of the day and was chewing on his fingers and drooling a ton. That other 1/4 of the day I guess was when his Motrin was working.

Here is Noah J after his first lunch on his new back porch! We pulled the high chair outside this afternoon and we ate lunch together in the shade on our new patio furniture (thanks Granny!)!! I didn't think to take a picture till we were finished, so you just get his confused little face!

I think the grumpiness also has to do with the dropping the bottle thing - we're down to just one bottle first thing in the morning. But I KNOW he wants more - everytime I feed Joe he is trying to grab the bottle from me. Poor little bugger!! We're doing half milk, half formula except the morning bottle which is all formula. He won't drink much straight milk - hopefully he will get his act together!
