Interactive Theater fun!

The best thing we have added to our schedule this school year has been multiple trips to go see the Interactive Theater Company.  They have special homeschool shows that don't cost too much and are  perfect time for us.  And it is so nice cause they are in the Heights which is convenient and easy since we are familiar with the area.  The plays have been so funny - Noah and Wyatt laugh hysterically the entire time.  Annie really loves them too,  but some of the loud speaking/yelling makes her kind of nervous.  But I don't mind cause that means we get to snuggle!  The first show of the season Noah got pulled up on stage and got to play a part.  He was either Lewis or Clark, I can't remember.  I was so shocked he was brave enough to get up there.  He is constantly surprising me!  The boys requested that I put gel in their hair and spike it up in the front this particular day.  They were so cute... it hardly looks different but they really thought they looked fancy!  My favorite part of the day is that we always go to Berryhill's afterwards for lunch.  They insisted that I snap their picture on this bench in the parking lot.

And they were super excited that for the last show of the season Joshua stayed awake and came with them.

Can't wait for all of the new shows next year!

Camp Bovay - Part 1!

I just had to take a picture of Josh's first time in his official Den Leader gear!  If you had said to me 17 years ago when I first met Josh that we would get married,  have three babies and he would be a cub scout den leader I never would have believed you!  Not even a little bit.  He is the best.  For real.  :)

He took Noah J on his first ever overnight campout with his pack to Camp Bovay this weekend. We thought we would all go as a family, but we were told that Wyatt would not be able to participate in any of the activities.  We figured he would be so very sad so we decided that I would stay home with the two littles.  Wyatt got to spend the night with his grandma and grandpa and pretty much had his dream weekend, so that helped to ease the pain of Noah camping without him.  Check out our new instant tent... it really goes up in just a minute.  It is pretty great!  Noah called me Friday night telling me how excited he was to be camping right next to a beautiful lake.
We really had no idea what to expect as far as the trip went, but he was thrilled cause he knew he might get to earn his BB Shooting Belt Loop.  Don't ya just love that little smooshy face?!  Josh took tons of pics for me since I had to miss it all.  So be warned!

They started off the day Saturday with a session on soccer.  Noah really loves soccer but hasn't played since we didn't join the YMCA group again this year.  You can see how much fun he had.  I just love all his smiles on the field.

They finished that up with a game of kickball.  He seemed to really like that too.  Since we aren't part of school that has official PE classes he hadn't ever experienced kickball.  Ohh, I hated the pressure of kickball when I was a kid, LOL.  :)

I will have to say the scouts know exactly what little boys like cause their next activity was digging up fossils.  And his dig ended in the best way possible with a giant shark tooth!

What we found in the living room!

I really have no words for this.  Love these three being together all day and having time just to be kids!!  :)

Red-winged Blackbird!

We were outside doing school on the back porch when what to our wondering eyes should appear?  Yes, a Red-Winged Blackbird!  Yes, I know this is an extremely common bird, but we have never seen one before.  To be honest I didn't even know what it was.  But Noah J certainly did!  This boy prides himself on knowing every single bird that comes into our yard, male and female!  Every time I think he is yanking my chain we pull out bird field guide and he is always right.  :) So we stopped what we were doing and pulled out our Prisma colors and nature journals.  When we first started our nature journals Noah really HATED them.  Mostly because I was forcing him to write in it.  But this year I decided I really wanted him to develop a love of recording the things he finds interesting in God's creation, so I told him I would be his scribe.  Ta da!!  We suddenly have a boy who loves nature journaling.  :)   Love homeschooling outside in the springtime weather!
