The Birthday party: Part 2

So at the party we had it set up to be like the Island of Sodor. We put down duct tape railroad tracks, made RR crossing signs, and each of the games had a Thomas character with instructions for what to do.

Of course the favorite activity was the jumper (thanks G&G!), and then anything involving getting wet. Cranky dropped some cargo into the ocean so the kids had to help fish it out, and then they went for a washdown! Josh strung our sprinkler up in the air, and the kids just thought it was grand running through it. You can see Wyatt wasn't quite happy about all of it!

The party: Part 1, the cake!

I don't know why, but I just cannot seem to summon up the courage to blog about the boys' party. I guess cause it stressed me out so much, and I'm so relieved that its over. So I think I'll post the pics a bit at a time, and I find the strength! :)

So here's the cake to start things off. Isn't it just too cute? Clarabel was chocolate, Annie was yellow, and Thomas was pound cake. They were delicious and turned out so well that I was really pleased. You KNOW that I am NOT an artist, so I was very very nervous about this, but I was socked at how easy it turned out to be. Actually baking the cakes themselves, and mixing the frosting was the hardest part.

When Noah came home from my parents and saw the cake he was SOOOO excited that it made all the hard work worthwhile. He kept asking "this dry yet?" I guess he thought once it was dry he could eat it! Hee hee hee!

Day Out With Thomas

Now these pictures are a couple of months old, but I just finally got them off the camera last week, so here they are. The whole trip was pure craziness - it was freezing cold and windy, and Noah and Wyatt were both really unsure about the whole hotel business. We really thought Noah would be the problem, but it was WYatt!! He screamed again and again during the night, waking all of us up, including our neighbors! (Sorry G&G!) We had close to no good pictures, but these are the best!

fun at Ikea

Are my kids the only ones who think that the entire IKEA store is just one big playground? Cause they LOVE IT!! Especially when we stop at the cafe and get snacks! Look at these two - and the worst part is that I left the wipes in the car!!

Packing the bags

I'm almost to the point of finally blogging about our trip to see Thomas, but these were just too cute to not post. I was trying to begin packing our suitcase for the trip, and this is what I found when I came into the bedroom. I love this boy!!

Cousins!!

The boys had a fantastic day today - first they got to play at G&G's this morning, then they had a trip to Home Depot & Target (which they love) and then after their naps this afternoon we went to Joseph's house to check out his new swing set/fort. Can you tell they had a blast?

Gorgeous baby

We were practicing with our new camera and accidentally got this beautiful shot of the little one. Isn't he so cute you just want to squeeze his head till it pops!?!?

New Camera!!!

I would like to have it noted that Josh and I did our part to stimulate the economy - we purchased a new camera with a bit of our stimulus check! We ended up getting a Canon, and it seems to be great, although its so different from our old cam its taking some getting used to. And here is our first new pic - my little chunk asleep in bed this morning. Don't you just love little babies sleeping?

Our little chunk!

Little Wyatt loves to eat so much, that I have been finding him scavenging through the house! Six weeks ago or so I found him in the play room with Noah's scone box eating what was left of it. Then a couple weeks later he found his way into the pantry, pulled out a box of cheese crackers and got to work! Can you tell how proud he is? It's just so funny I have to take a picture every time!

Easter

It seems almost embarrassing, but here I am, finally blogging our Easter pictures. And now I hardly remember a thing about the day! But aren't my boys cute? Noah liked find the Easter eggs, but was extremely put out with the real eggs once he realized he couldn't open them up and find candy inside! He also immediately popped every single egg open once he found it, only to spill the contents all over the grass!

We tried to get a nice family photo, with no luck, but we did catch this cute one with G&G. Aren't they adorable?

Seeing the gig 'em aggies!

For those of you that don't know, Noah J is obsessed with the gig 'em Aggies. That is how he ALWAYS refers to them - "Oh mom look! That man wearing gig 'em Aggies shirt!" He totally recognizes the aTm logo, and gets way excited about it. So we knew we had to take advantage of going to see the aggie Spring game a few weeks ago.

We were a little nervous, cause you know Noah HATES crowds, but he did really well. He loves to read Howdy Reveille, so we took the book and he walked around campus looking at the pictures and then looking at the real thing (you can see in one of the pictures). When we first got there we parked in the parking garage and there was a corp member walking behind us with is clicky clacky shoes - Noah could hardly believe that there was really one of the men from his book walking right next to us. The guy stopped and talked to Noah, but you know how he is, he was terrified and clung to my legs. Then we walked through the tunnel under Wellborn road, which was FULL of people going to the game and Noah proclaimed, "WOW! All these people really like gig 'em aggie shirts!" He sure was right, huh? He LOVED the tunnel and loved that we were going under railroad tracks - he officially calls it the gig 'em aggie tunnel.

We had promised him the whole time up there that we would see Reveille and we would buy him a stuffed Reveille. Of course, ALL of the stores were out of stuffed ones, and then, if you can believe it, Reveille wasn't at the game (evidently the new one is still in training). So he was way bummed out about that. The first half of the game was pretty much a nightmare - it was so crowded and we were all going stir crazy. And you know how Noah J feels about group singing, so he wasn't real keen on that part. But then at halftime everything got better for Noah - he just loves brass bands, so this was a dream come true (it also didn't hurt that half the people around us left)! When the band was done he just kept asking for them to play some more. And when the game was finally over, they had this awesome fireworks show inside the stadium - he was completely mesmerized. Now the poor kid thinks all football games have fireworks!!

After the game we walked around campus in the dark and took him to see the rest of the places in his book - the Academic building, the century tree, and then we took the long walk to Albritton tower. He ran and ran around it and through the middle and we had to pull him away kicking and screaming! It was really kind of nice walking around campus at night - it was beautiful and nice and cool, and also not crowded, so he could walk ahead of us as much as he pleased.

We were out SO late, but we had absolutely the best time. The trip served to increase Noah's love of the Fighting Texas Aggie Band, and he desperately wants to go see them again. We got Wyatt an Aggie Baby video for his birthday, and Noah makes us repeat the 3 minute segment in the video of the band - he gets his little plastic trumpet and marches around the living room. It's quite possibly the cutest thing you've ever seen. And of course then I have to sing the war hymn as his lullaby at night!! We can't wait till next year, seeing as how these are the only games we can afford to go to!

Teeny tiny pool

Isn't this the cutest little pool you have ever seen? Wyatt LOVES to splash in the tub, so when I saw this teeny pool I just knew he had to have it. He wasn't really certain about it, to be honest. But he had fun for a little bit. We put the same pool out at the party this weekend and he wanted absolutely nothing to do with it. The big kids love it, though! Maybe as it gets warmer.

Wy's birthday!

Yes, we did have the boys' party this weekend, but I'm still trying to catch up on old pictures, so these are from the 26th.

Here's Wyatt enjoying his present G&G brought over, and then having his birthday cupcake. He's wearing his swimming shirt - doesn't he look like such a beefcake in it?

He's a walking machine!

OK, so maybe "machine" is stretching it a little bit, but he is walking with the aid of a toy! Which is huge for us cause our little boulder was looking like it would never happen. He is SO funny - stiff legged and crazy, but he gets across the room at a shockingly fast pace. He went for his 1 year checkup and she said he was doing great and that its considered normal as long as he walks before 15 months, which I totally think he will. He's such a sweet little bug!

We got all the pics off our camera, so I should have quite a few pictures to post in the next week!

Happy Birthday Little Wy!

Can you even believe that today is Wyatt's 1 year birthday? I can't either. This year has just flown by. And he still seems like such a little baby muffin!

I'm sorry to say that we took some way cute pics of him today, but we still cannot get the pictures off the camera. Well, I could take the memory card and go someplace and have them burned onto a CD, but I take pictures every day, so I'm waiting till the card is full to do that. We're also looking into buying another cord, which I think is where the problem is.

G&G came by this evening and brought Wy a birthday cupcake, which both the boys enjoyed. Wyatt wasn't really sure about it at first, and it took him forever to have a single bite. He was cracking us up! And he even got a present to open! It was this awesome ride on Elmo airplane, which you can imagine was enjoyed by all. Noah did such a great job taking turns with it. You know he doesn't like to share anything, so this was a big deal. He made us all hysterical cause at one point he didn't want to get off and let Wyatt ride, and he said, "I think Wyatt WAY tired." Can you believe he was trying to get us to put Wyatt to bed? So sneaky!

Anyways, he's way adorable and I have a TON of pictures to post whenever we get them. Can't wait to share!
