Homeschooling!

So maybe this picture isn't that exciting for anybody else, but it just does my heart wonders.  After months of faithfully plowing away, day after day with school, I got to experience a moment like this.  My boy so excited about reading a new book that he stopped digging in the dirt.  Yes, I said stopped digging in the dirt, to read a book.  :)  That's a big deal for my Noah J. He has been doing really well with learning how to read, but hasn't been too excited about reading actual books.  I guess cause all the books he can read at this point are pretty boring.  He was super excited to get a "real" book with a nice hard cover and tons of pages.

We were working in the yard this week when a box full of new curriculum for next year got dropped off by the UPS guy.  There was so much running around and screaming and happiness you would have thought it was Christmas.  I didn't even have the heart to tell them to wash their filthy hands, I just let them dive right in.  Wyatt was very sad he couldn't read his books yet, but had fun looking at them anyways.

I love this picture cause you can see how intensely Wyatt is examining his new book.  The boy is ready to start it, but I keep telling him he has to wait till he's 4.  Not too much longer.

And yes, in case you were wondering, all books are better when read atop a pile of mulch! :)

This is so adorable! My husband and I recently made the decision to home-educate our daughter. She's only 20 months, but I can't wait until I have a scene like that in my front yard a few years from now =) Keep it up!
